The Derma Diode laser emits targeted energy that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. This heat damages the active hair follicles, preventing further hair growth from those follicles. As laser treatment only affects hairs in the anagen (active growth) phase, multiple sessions are required to achieve optimal results, as not all hairs are in this stage at the same time.
Laser hair removal is not effective on blonde, grey, white or red hair, as these lack the pigment required for the laser to work. Before starting treatment, a consultation and patch test are required to ensure suitability and safety. Treatments are typically repeated every 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the area being treated and individual hair growth cycles.

As part of our laser hair removal service, a patch test is required prior to treatment. The cost of the patch test is £30.
